Larry Crawford, the “main mouth”, is the front man and bassist in the band. Born in Memphis, he started on drums in 1968 and switched to guitar while in a band called Black Cat Bone with his two older brothers in 1971. Raised as an Air Force brat, he lived in England from ’67 to ’72. While back in the states, Larry jammed with The Barkays and Confunkshun and joined the Air Force in 1975. In 1977, he was stationed in England and played with Phaso when off duty. Returning to the U.S. in 1983, Larry joined the Air Force band playing bass and left the service in 1985. He took a hiatus from music in 1987 and decided in 2005 that it was time to “do it again”. Lucky for COLD HARD CASH!
Larry cites Stanley Clarke, Mark King, Dave Mathews and Earth, Wind & Fire as his main influences and holds the title of the band’s “King of the Barbeque”.
