For drummer James LeFevre, music has been a driving force throughout his entire life. During his childhood in Brazil, he was continually exposed to a myriad of different musical genres as well as other forms of art. The almost infinite array of Brazilian music figures prominently in his playing, as do the jazz and classical influences of later years. James has played in many different settings, which he says, keeps him “honest”. A regular Tuesday night gig with The Big Band Reunion allows him to stretch his big band chops, and he welcomes each new situation as a challenge and an opportunity to learn.

COLD HARD CASH is a band that suits him perfectly, since they perform so many different styles of music for such a diverse variety of audiences. The group’s encouragement of original material is also a definite plus. Music has been a life-long journey for James, and it’s easy to see that he feels fortunate to be along for the ride.
